Metco Capabilities
Raw Material Processinq
Our powder area contains four blenders of various sizes to assure proper material composition. This process allows the ability to custom tailor our material to specific applications. Carbon analysis and microstructure equipment assures material process and control.
Molding
Our molding capability includes 34 mechanical and hydraulic presses ranging from 12 to 400 tons. Single and Multi-level presses provide us the ability to mold varying complex configurations. Overhead-enclosed powder feeders reduce any possibility of contamination.
Sintering
Ten modern electric sintering furnaces specifically designed for powdered metal production provides flexibility to meet customer specifications. These furnaces are equipped with electronic monitors, which control temperature It speed and atmosphere. Controlled cooling is also available for sinter hardening applications.
Sizing
Our sizing capabilities consist of eight presses ranging from 20 to 100 tons. Vibratory bowl feeders allow automatic feeding providing effective and economical production of parts requiring repress or sizing operation for dimensional control.
Surface Finishing
Several types of tumbling equipment are available to deburr and clean parts to meet specified burr free requirements. Various media is used to perform this finishing operation.
Tooling
METCO's machine shop is equipped with lathes, grinders, EDM and various other tool equipment to maintain and produce our own tooling. This shop is staffed around the clock with qualified toolmakers to support manufacturing.
Secondary Operations
In addition to our machining capability, METCO provides Oil Impregnation, Coating, Drilling, Tapping, Honing, Grinding, Plating, Heat and Stream Treating. Some of these operations are handled through quality area sub-contractors located in the immediate area.
Assembly
METCO has the capability, expertise and experience to provide assemblies to meet specified requirements. Various combinations of powdered metal screw machine or synthetic components can be inserted, pressed, brazed or simply assembled. This service provides customers with an economical alternative. Quality finished sub-assembles can be shipped directly for final assembly.
Pro Process LLC
A new company formed by METCO Industries Inc. This 10,000 sq. ft. facility is devoted to the machining of P/M parts to meet our customer's high expectation of quality and service. Located on the premises, PRO PROCESS LLC is providing METCO Industries with the ability to secondary approximately 80% of current machining demands. This means better control of schedules and quality to better meet customer specifications.
Quality
METCO's quality control consists of highly trained and experienced personnel equipped with modern testing and inspection equipment. This combination of people and equipment ensures our quality requirements are maintained. Each production step is monitored using various modern evaluation methods to ensure 100% quality through out the process. Inspection equipment includes DCC Co-ordinate Measuring Machine, Optical Video Inspection, DCC Optical Comparator, Laser Micrometer, Rockwell Hardness Testers, Leeco Carbon Analyzer and a Satec CompressioNCrush Machine, Gear Checker, Oil Viscometer, in addition to various other inspection equipment.
