Employee Safety and Training

Safety for all employees is at the top of Metco's priority list. Safety is the responsibility of each employee and this responsibility is taken very seriously by each person on the Metco Team.

Metco has, to date, reached a record 1400 consecutive safe working days. We are very proud of this accomplishment and continue to strive to improve this record through training and the recommendations of our safety committee.

Metco Industries Inc., has a extensive training program for all new hires. This program includes a training video on all in-house operations, safety procedures and proper handling of material and quality records. This is followed by periodic evaluations of each employee by their supervisor. The evaluations include the employees' ability in all aspects of their specific job description, including quality and safety procedures. These evaluations are then entered into the employee's personnel file for future reference.

Metco's management continues to follow all employee's progress and if the need arises, offer additional training in the areas where the individual's skills need to be updated. All employees are offered training classes on a regular basis to better their understanding and knowledge of skills needed to complete the job classification they are performing.

Metco's management encourages all employees to continually update their knowledge and skills by attending any classes they wish that will help them to better perform their job duties. Management also attends periodic training sessions to continue to update their knowledge in all facets of the P/M industry, supervisory skills, and general business practices.

At Metco, we firmly believe that knowledge is power and we put this into practice everyday.
